Updated on March 16, 2025
Conversion ratios are critical for converting volume measurements to weight.
Understanding Conversion Ratios
- Ratio: Weight per unit volume (tons per cubic yard)
- Example: Gravel = 1.5 tons per cubic yard
- Varies by material, moisture, and composition
- Industry standards available for common materials
On a Specific Measurement
- Open the measurement record
- Find Conversion Ratio field
- Enter new ratio value
- System recalculates weight
- Review updated totals
- Save changes
On Product Settings
- Go to Admin > Products
- Select the product
- Edit conversion ratio
- Applies to future measurements
- Options to recalculate historical data
Tips for Accuracy
- Update ratios at material change-over points
- Account for seasonal moisture changes
- Verify with physical weight comparisons
- Document all ratio changes
- Keep records of ratio sources
