What Drone and App Should You Use?

This article lists the drones and apps that are supported for flying missions with Stockpile Reports.

Hardware support notice
Stockpile Reports does not provide hardware support. For DJI drone support, please contact DJI United States & Canada at (818) 235-0789, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (PST).

Drones You Can Use with Stockpile Reports #

The following drones are compatible with Stockpile Reports:

  • DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise, Thermal, or Multispectral (not Cine, Classic, or Pro models)
    • Important: In settings, make sure Dewarping is toggled OFF. Dewarped images cannot be processed and your flight will fail.
  • DJI Air 2S
  • DJI Phantom 3 Pro or Phantom 4 series (no RTK or smart controllers)
  • DJI Inspire 1 or 2 with X3, X4S, X5, or X5S cameras (default DJI lenses only)
  • DJI Mavic 2 Pro
  • DJI Mini 2
  • DJI Mini 4 Pro
  • DJI Air 3

Why Other Drones Are Not Supported #

If your drone is not listed above, it cannot be used with Stockpile Reports. This is typically due to:

  • Inconsistent reconstruction results – Some drones do not produce reliable imagery, often due to sensor or production variations.
  • Lack of SDK support – DJI has stopped releasing SDKs for many new consumer drones, preventing third-party apps from controlling flights. DJI is directing mapping workflows toward Enterprise-level drones.

📌 Update (April 4, 2025):
Map Pilot Pro has released a “workaround” for waypoint missions on the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3. These drones are technically supported but require additional setup steps.

  • Stockpile Reports cannot guarantee the effectiveness of this workaround.
  • Stockpile Reports does not provide training on this method.
  • For details, visit the Map Pilot Pro page.

👉 Recommendation (Q2 2025):

  • For reliability and long-term support, we recommend the Mavic 3 Enterprise series.
  • For lower budgets, consider supported drones available on the used market.

Apps You Can Use for Flight Missions #

  • Map Pilot Pro is the recommended app for creating flight missions.
  • Mavic 3 Enterprise series drones must use the Pilot 2 app for flights.
  • Other apps may work, but they must meet the minimum specifications outlined here.

📌 Update (April 4, 2025):
Map Pilot Pro has released a workaround for waypoint missions on the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3. These drones are technically supported but require extra setup steps.

Important: Stockpile Reports cannot guarantee the effectiveness of this workaround and does not provide training on it.
See details on the Map Pilot Pro page.
